1. Controller

2. What data we process and why

We only process what we need:

  • Your order. Name, email address, delivery address, order details and payment status, to fulfil and ship your order. Legal basis: performance of the contract and our statutory accounting obligations.
  • Traceability. Which batch of seed, with which lot number, went to which order and which address. Plant health rules require us to record this, so that a batch can be traced and we can inform you if it has to be withdrawn from the market. Legal basis: a legal obligation.
  • Your account. If you create an account, we keep your details and your wishlist so that you can find them again. Legal basis: the contract.
  • Newsletter and reminders. If you sign up for the newsletter, or give consent to marketing at checkout, we use your email address for that. With that consent, we may also remind you once about an abandoned basket or an unused discount code. You can unsubscribe at any time with one click. Legal basis: your consent.
  • Notifications and giveaways. If you ask to be notified when something is available again, or take part in a giveaway, we use your email address for that purpose only. Legal basis: your consent.
  • Contact. If you send a message through the contact form, we use your name, email address and message to reply to you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering questions.

3. Who we share data with

We never sell your data. We work with service providers who help us run the webshop and who only process data on our behalf: payment (Mollie), email (Brevo), hosting and database (Vercel, Supabase) and tracking down technical errors (Sentry; these error reports contain no personal data, or only masked personal data). Your name and address are on the envelope and so reach bpost, which delivers the letter.

Only with your consent do we use visitor statistics (Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics) and advertising conversion tracking (Meta, Pinterest). Our Instagram feed (Behold) loads images from an external service. For reviews, we link to Trustpilot.

4. How long we keep data

We keep order and invoice data for as long as the statutory accounting and tax retention obligations require. Data on which batch went to which order is kept for as long as the plant health rules require. Your email address for the newsletter is kept until you unsubscribe. Data for a notification or a giveaway is deleted once these have ended. Contact messages are not kept longer than needed to deal with your question.

5. Your rights

You have the right to access your data, to have it rectified, to have it erased (insofar as we are not legally required to keep it), to restrict processing, to data portability and to object. If you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Send your request via the contact form. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (dataprotectionauthority.be).

6. Cookies and statistics

We always set necessary cookies and local storage: the site needs them to work, for example for your basket, your session and remembering your cookie choice. Everything else only loads after you give consent in the cookie banner: visitor statistics (Vercel Analytics and Google Analytics), Trustpilot reviews, and advertising and conversion tracking (Meta pixel and Pinterest). Vercel Analytics measures without cookies: it sets no cookies and stores no personal data. You can change your choice at any time via the Cookie preferences link at the bottom of every page.
